Make your own simple syrup!

Simple syrup is a common ingredient in cocktails. You can buy it in the store but did you know you can just make it at home?

What you need:

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar (plain beet sugar, Demerara, cane sugar or Turbinado will work just fine)

– 1/2 cup water.

– 1 resealable container

– 1 stovetop pan

– 1 stirring utensil

I put the stove at medium heat and add the water and sugar in the pan.

Then I stir until the sugar is dissolved fully.

Tada! That’s it!

Then I funnel the syrup into the container and put in the fridge for 20 minutes before adding it to a cocktail. And you can store it around a month in the fridge.

Pro tips: add some cinnamon for cinnamon simple syrup. Or you could use honey instead of sugar for honey syrup. Many possibilities…
